About Class Act Theatre

About Us

Class Act Theatre is a theatrical musical group giving home-educated students, primarily located in Washington and Ozaukee counties and surrounding areas, the opportunity to develop their God-given talents. We began as a group of four moms and one “Nana” who all have a love for musical theatre and wanted to be able to share that love with the home-educated community. Each of us has our own special niche and together we try to bring the joy of theatre alive for not only our participants and families but the community as a whole.

We work with students ages 14 through high school seniors. Because we want to share our passion for musical theatre with everyone, we keep our participation fees low and never charge for tickets to our productions. We rely solely on donations, fundraisers, and the support of the families involved to make this possible. Students can be involved in either an on-stage role acting and singing or in a supporting role backstage helping with painting, building, props, scenery sets, costuming, sound and lighting, and so much more. Some students switch from on-stage to backstage and then back again so that they have an opportunity to learn and be involved in all aspects of theatre.

We are fortunate to have the support of many businesses within our home-educated community and Class Act Theatre strives to support local businesses. In an effort to do this, Class Act Theatre uses Print Haus of Hartford/West Bend for our beautiful programs, rents amazing costumes from Lori’s Costuming of West Bend, purchases paint and building supplies from the West Bend/Grafton Home Depot and West Bend Menards, and finds prop items at Hobby Lobby of West Bend and Dollar Tree – just to name just a few.

We jokingly remind families and attendees that we don’t profess to be a professional troupe and that we do this so the kids get to experience the joys of theatre. That being said, one of our greatest rewards are seeing the students have fun–while they learn to work as a team both on and off stage–and we secretly hope that you wildly enjoy our shows.

We could not put on our amazing shows without the help of the public, like yourself! We thank those who donate and spend countless hours volunteering their time. Learn more about how you can help, here.
